…But wisdom is shown to be right by its results (Matthew 11:19 NLT)

Beloved, our feature text is one of those texts that’s not took deep to understand. You don’t need to get some deep revelation from it. It basically says in whatever you do, your results would determine if you are wise or not and I remember listening to someone ask a question that helped me change many things in my life. “Why are people so loyal to dysfunction?”, they asked.

Dysfunction simply means a failure to function in an expected manner and so when something isn’t given the expected results why do we choose to continue doing it?

The Amplified Bible says… wisdom is justified and vindicated by her deeds [in the lives of those who respond to Me].”

Beloved, if after so many years your deeds have not been justified and vindicated, then maybe you have to think again. We can’t keep doing the same thing and expect a different result except that result is what we are expecting. Even the prodigal son came to himself and said wait a minute what am I actually doing (Luke 15:17). Jacob is another one. He told Laban… Yes, for twenty years I slaved in your house! I worked for fourteen years earning your two daughters, and then six more years for your flock. And you changed my wages ten times! (Genesis 31:41 NLT). Jacob had to receive wisdom from the Lord to set himself free.

The Bible says… If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking (James 1:5 NLT). This means the Lord is willing to give you true wisdom if only you would ask Him for it. However, the issue is that… when you ask Him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord (James 1:6-7 NLT).

Some ask the Lord for wisdom but then rely on other sources as well and as a result, what they receive become polluted. You want to know everybody’s opinion about it. The other frustrating aspect of this is when someone wants you to follow their example but they have no results to show for it and if you keep heeding to their advice, don’t be surprised that you are just as unfruitful as they are.

Beloved, what’s the result of wisdom?

Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding. For wisdom is more profitable than silver, and her wages are better than gold. Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. She offers you long life in her right hand, and riches and honor in her left. She will guide you down delightful paths; all her ways are satisfying. Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her; happy are those who hold her tightly (Proverbs 3:13-18 NLT).

God bless you in Jesus Christ name
