In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple (Isaiah 6:1 NKJV).

Beloved, I’m one of those people that the Lord ministers to a lot through songs and when He drops a song in my spirit, I can’t stop singing it until I fully grasp what it is the Lord is saying to me. So, since we entered the new year, this is the song I can’t stop singing. It says “Be lifted high… Oh Lord be Lifted high… For You are holy… Righteous and Worthy… Oh Lord be lifted high”

In our feature text, the Prophet Isaiah lets us know that what… in the year King Uzziah died he saw the Lord high and lifted up and the question that was dropped in my spirit was “what needs to die this year for you to see the Lord?”

Beloved, this could be anything. It could be a strong personality in your life, a key relationship with someone or people that you know is standing as an obstacle preventing you from knowing the Lord. Unfortunately, many people have allowed people to play God in their lives but God is not about to compete with anyone. It could be also your way of reasoning or your mindset. When the Samaritan woman asked Jesus a question about worship, Jesus said to her… You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship… (John 4:22 NLT). The New King James version says… You worship what you do not know…

Beloved, it took a lot of things to die in the life of Job including his reputation for him to get to that play where he had to say… “I had heard of You [only] by the hearing of the ear, but now my [spiritual] eye sees You (Job 42:5 AMP). The Message Translation says… I admit I once lived by rumors of you; now I have it all firsthand—from my own eyes and ears!

Beloved, again I ask the question; “what needs to die this year for you to see the Lord?” Two years ago, I remember telling the Lord that I’m going to drop everything people have told me about You and I’m going for the God of the Bible. Hmmm… let me just say “be careful what you pray for” because many things die alright but I can know say I am getting to know the Lord more than ever before.

The Bible says… the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits (Daniel 11:32 NKJV). Apostle Paul said… I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, 11 so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead! (Philippians 3:10-11 NLT)

Beloved, the suffering may mean that somethings have to die so you can see the Lord. So, we cast… down arguments and EVERY HIGH THING THAT EXALTS ITSELF AGAINST THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled (2 Corinthians 10:5-6 NKJV).

God bless you in Jesus Christ name
