You probably know by now that the enemy have vowed to do all he can to prevent you from being who God has called you to be so would use all sorts of tactics to stop you but it will not work as far as you press on in Christ.

We read about David who matched on and took what was his despite the enemies intimidation. The Bible says… David and his men immediately set out for Jerusalem to take on the Jebusites, who lived in that country. But they said, “You might as well go home! Even the blind and the lame could keep you out. You can’t get in here!” THEY HAD CONVINCED THEMSELVES THAT DAVID COULDN’T BREAK THROUGH. BUT DAVID WENT RIGHT AHEAD and captured the fortress of Zion, known ever since as the City of David (2 Samuel 5:6-7 MSG).

The NKJV says… NEVERTHELESS DAVID TOOK THE STRONGHOLD OF ZION… but what did he have to get rid of? It was … the lame and the blind, who are hated by David’s soul (2 Samuel 5:8 NKJV).

Jerusalem became the centre of Israel’s spiritual life and David had to get rid of the lame and blind standing in his way so for you today, is there anything that has spiritually blinded or paralysed you that you need to overcome? Satan builds MENTAL STRONGHOLDS which is defined as a mind-set impregnated with hopelessness that causes us to accept as unchangeable, situations that we know are contrary to the will of God. Because of reoccurring situations, past experiences, family background… we develop mind-sets that make us think… I’m hopeless, I’m cursed, I’m a failure… This presents a false view of God’s reality for your life.

Even the blind and the lame could keep you out… If your mind is clouded by satan’s smoke screen, it’s preventing you from seeing things the way God desires you to see them so you must pull those strongholds down and… we use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:4-5 NLT).

You are to use the truth in God’s word as a weapon to drive out these strongholds. You are not a failure, God always leads us into triumph (2 Corinthians 2:14). You are not hopeless… Christ in you is the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27). And you are not cursed because Christ redeemed you from the curse of the Law (Galatians 3:13-14)

Demolishing strongholds is the greatest breakthrough you can ever have so as you decide to be strengthened by God’s truth, I pray that you take hold of everything the Lord has for you in Jesus name… Amen.

God bless you

I heard someone say it took 10 years to come out of their wilderness season and this wasn’t a case of just one aspect of their life in chaos. It was one trial after another. Everything that could go wrong went wrong and it felt like it was never going to end. I tell you… that was depressing to hear and I immediately started counting my fingers and all I could say was… PLEASE LORD DON’T LET IT BE THAT LONG. I don’t know if I would be able to remain standing. But then they said something that got me thinking… what’s the alternative? Good question! It’s times like this that you know whether you are kingdom material or not. Didn’t Jesus say… “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back [to the things behind] is fit for the kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:62 NLT)
SO HOW LONG? ONLY GOD KNOWS. What should one do while waiting? Good question! we need to have childlike faith while at the same time growing into a mature Christian. Jesus said… “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 18:3 NIV).

How can you become like a child? First of all, to a child, their parents are the best. They are their hero’s and they proudly boast…“my daddy is a doctor; my mummy is a lawyer, my daddy drives a very big car…bigger than a house.” While waiting, God wants us to praise and worship Him like that.

Children believe and trust everything their parents say and as they wait in excitement, they keep reminding them of their promise. You’re bound to have no rest until you fulfil your promise to a child. God wants us to trust Him like that.

Children cry for food when hungry and won’t stop until they are fed and full. This food makes them grow and in the same way, while waiting on God, He wants us to feed on His word.

Children cry out for change when they’ve soiled themselves. They are uncomfortable in their mess and won’t stop crying until their parents change them. While waiting, God wants us to have this attitude and cry out to the Holy Spirit to change us. This makes us grow into mature Christians with refined character. This is why the Lord allows trials to come our way and that’s why Paul said… We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation (Romans 5:3-4 NLT).

SO HOW LONG? ONLY GOD KNOWS. But you know you are maturing when you can look at your trials and ask God what aspect of your character He wants you to work on to prepare you for the next level. This way you are preoccupied with learning from the journey and growing rather than asking HOW LONG because how long may just be how long it takes for you to grow up.

God bless you

I like that the Lord is no respecter of persons. Everyone, regardless of your background, education, race, past, whatever can approach Him… For God shows no partiality [undue favor or unfairness; with Him one man is not different from another] (Romans 2:11 AMP). He doesn’t discriminate. He sees everything that goes on in the earth and knows us personally by name.

I’m thinking of a man called Zacchaeus, a very rich tax collector, but there comes a time when everything you’ve got no longer has the ability to satisfy you; a typical case of been there… done it… but I’m now at the point where I believe there’s more to life.

I also like that the Lord somehow makes it impossible for us to reach perfection without him so your shortcomings are there for a purpose. No matter how much money Zacchaeus had, it could not buy him height. The Bible says he was a short man and maybe he had been searching for things to fill that gap. I’m sure people made fun of him and he may have thought perhaps if he had all the money, he would fit in but it didn’t work. He was still short so at some point he decided that the height he couldn’t achieve physically, he had to achieve spiritually. He decided to seek God and God… IS A REWARDER OF THOSE WHO DILIGENTLY SEEK HIM (Hebrews 11:6 NLT).

The Message translation says… He cares enough to respond to those who seek Him. Zacchaeus was desperate; he didn’t care what others thought. He sought after Jesus. He made up his mind that Jesus was not going to pass by without noticing him… So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree beside the road, for Jesus was going to pass that way. When Jesus came by, HE LOOKED UP AT ZACCHAEUS AND CALLED HIM BY NAME. “Zacchaeus!” He said. “Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.” (Luke 19:4-5 NLT)

Jesus always knows where to look. He can always tell from amongst the crowd that one person that is sincerely looking for Him and I like that He would stop everything else to attend to you. He was passing by but He decided to drop by in Zacchaeus house. Why? Only because Zacchaeus decided to climb higher.

You may think you have shortcomings but regardless of what they are, Jesus can fill the gap and as far as you decide that enough is enough; I want to let go of everything that I’ve been using to disguise my shortcomings and just seek after Him… I want to position myself where He can find me… He would reward your sincere effort.

God bless you

As part of our Christian walk, we should regularly spend time reflecting on our journey with God. It’s thought-provoking to think that with about 2.18 billion Christians around the world, the Lord looks down at us all and despite how we present ourselves before people, He alone KNOWS THOSE WHO ARE HIS and if you are like me, I’m always checking in to ensure I’m one of them. Jesus couldn’t have been joking when He said… “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. ONLY THOSE WHO ACTUALLY DO THE WILL OF MY FATHER IN HEAVEN WILL ENTER. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in Your name and cast out demons in Your name and performed many miracles in Your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from Me, you who break God’s laws.’ (Matthew 7:21-23 NLT)

Jesus’ statement speaks of presumptions; people who think they’re doing the work of God but in actual fact are not DOING HIS WILL.

That’s why I love Paul’s sound advice to Timothy… Work hard so you can present yourself to God and RECEIVE HIS APPROVAL. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains THE WORD OF TRUTH. Avoid worthless, foolish talk that only leads to more godless behavior. This kind of talk spreads like cancer, as in the case of Hymenaeus and Philetus. They have LEFT THE PATH OF TRUTH… THEY HAVE TURNED SOME PEOPLE AWAY FROM THE FAITH. But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “THE LORD KNOWS THOSE WHO ARE HIS,” and “ALL WHO BELONG TO THE LORD MUST TURN AWAY FROM EVIL.” (2 Timothy 2:15-19 NLT)

We always try to seek people’s approval by trying to do or say the right things in front of people. But what about God? Does He approve of you? Does He think you have LEFT THE PATH OF TRUTH?

There is a way that APPEARS TO BE RIGHT, but in the end it leads to death. (Proverbs 14:12 AMP). This means you actually think you are on the right track but to be presumptuous is dangerous. I believe that’s why David said… Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life (Psalm 139:23-24 NLT). Paul also said… I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified (1 Corinthians 9:27 NLT).

What about you? The Holy Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children and only Him can guide us in to all truth so let’s spend some reflection time with Him today and as we do so, I pray He points out anything in us that could disqualify us so we can make amends.

One thing citizens of a nation know how to do very well is complain about bad leadership. They complain of all the hardship their ruler has put them through. However, they’ve got no choice but to unwillingly allow the ruler rule them until they have a chance to vote them out of power… that’s it…you don’t get to tell me what to do anymore.

Using this same analogy, wouldn’t you hate to think that after everything satan has put you through, he still gets the chance to tell you what to do and you do it? Unfortunately there have been many horrible things he has done to me outside my control that I wished I had the power to stop. I remember a few months before my 40th birthday, I was talking about how I’m going to make the enemy mad because he had planned I wouldn’t see that day. Unfortunately, a month before my birthday, I lost my brother. I still went ahead and celebrated my birthday because I had already dedicated that day as thank giving to the Lord for sparing my life 4 times. But the night after my birthday, as I was sleeping, I heard a voice whisper in my ears twice saying… REMEMBER YOU SAID YOU WERE GOING TO MAKE THE ENEMY MAD.

Oooh… I’m still very mad when I remember that voice. That’s something the enemy did to me outside my control and I hate him even more for that. However, could there be ways where I willingly give him control over my life? Do I willingly allow this enemy that caused me so much pain boss me around?

Do you not know that if you continually surrender yourselves to anyone to do his will, you are the slaves of him whom you obey, whether that be to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience which leads to righteousness (right doing and right standing with God)? (Romans 6:16 AMP)

The NIV Translation says… WHEN YOU OFFER YOURSELVES… and I would definitely hate to think that after everything he’s put me through he still has control over my life because when it comes to voting, I still say yes to him. No way.

When satan says sin and you choose to say yes, what you are really saying is that, yes I know you have inflicted me with so much pain and hardship but yes I still choose to do whatever you say I should do and I can just imagine that he’s laughing at how silly we all are. But when you say no to any kind of sin… lying, stealing, fornication adultery… you get the chance to say get lost satan… after what you’ve put me through, you don’t get the chance to tell me what to do.

When a thief comes to steal, kill or destroy your household, you do everything to ensure that he is caught and locked up for life if possible. You don’t turn around and say here you go… I choose to give you control of some more. In the same way… Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. DO NOT LET ANY PART OF YOUR BODY BECOME AN INSTRUMENT OF EVIL TO SERVE SIN. Instead, give yourselves completely to God… (Romans 6:12-13 NLT) because Jesus Christ has paid the costly price to take over control of your life. Think about it.

God bless you

26. July 2013 · Comments Off on WHO DOES GOD TAKE PERMISSION FROM? · Categories: Deliverance, Jesus Christ, Revelation

I was involved in a little argument early this week and though I ought to have let it go by now, I obviously haven’t so please pray for me.

On Saturday, I ministered at an event and prior to this event, I met with the organiser to talk about her vision which I understood well. In my opinion and in the opinion of the organiser and the people that attended, the programme went very well. There was a strong move of God and women were able to break loose and let go in the presence of God. In fact, I heard a testimony of a lady who came back to say she was contemplating suicide but changed her mind after hearing what I shared about suicide and praying particularly for her against the spirit of suicide without even knowing what was on her mind.

However on my way home, I asked for feedback from someone that came along to cover me in prayer. They said it went OK but I took too much time. That’s not the impression I got but because of the way they put it, I felt really bad thinking I had disrupted the programme so immediately I got home, I called the lady. She disagreed. She said she gave me about an hour and 10 minutes and I used the time well. She was very pleased with how everything went because she didn’t want the normal churchy way of doing things.

So of course I went back to my feedback friend (LOL… I can take constructive criticism… I really can). I told them what she said but then they said… “EVEN THOUGH THAT’S HOW SHE WANTED IT, YOU’RE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO WHAT SHE WANTED BECAUSE THAT’S NOT HOW THE PROFESSIONALS DO IT…I KNOW HOW THIS THINGS ARE DONE”. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Someone had a vision from God and followed His leading; there was a strong move of God; women were set free; she said I didnt even spend as much time as her previous event but because it did not fit into your norm of how you think you know things are done… I shouldn’t have done what she wanted???

Wow… This got me thinking all week and it’s no longer about time spent but about what religion is doing to us. Religion gives you a set of rules to follow. We tend to get stuck in a system or tradition defined by a group of people and don’t think God can move any other way other than what the group approves. But no group can tell you how to relate with the Lord. This becomes a case of Jesus asking; WHO DO PEOPLE SAY I AM (Religion) versus WHO DO YOU SAY I AM (Revelation).

Jesus said… you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. AND YOU DO MANY THINGS LIKE THAT (Mark 7:13 NIV) and I wonder how many more ways we limit the Lord in our attempt to box Him. Someone said… “WHEN I GOT RID OF RELIGION, I FOUND JESUS”. Does the Lord need to take permission or follow a set of rules to use you the way He wants? Is He waiting for you to step out of the box? What traditions of men are standing in the way of you being the unique person He has called you to be? FOOD FOR THOUGHT

I think I feel better now… I told my friend I’ve been invited to another event next month but I won’t bring them along but I think Ive changed my mind. LOL

With the arrival of the royal baby; George Alexander Louis, I can’t help but look at Kate’s face and wonder whether as a little girl, she ever dreamt of a moment like this?

I’m immediately reminded of a young orphan/adopted lady in the Bible called Esther. King Xerxes threw a banquet for all his nobles and officials… The celebration lasted 180 days—a tremendous display of the opulent wealth of his empire and the pomp and splendor of his majesty. When it was all over, the king gave a banquet for all the people, from the greatest to the least, who were in the fortress of Susa. It lasted for seven days and was held in the courtyard of the palace garden (Esther 1:4-5 NLT). The party was talk of the town and Esther must have been one of those invited because she lived with her cousin in the fortress of Susa (Esther 2:5-7). Wow… I get to attend the kings party? But I haven’t got anything decent to wear. The courtyard was beautifully decorated (Esther 1:6 NLT) so I’m sure she looked around and wandered in amazement.

The Bible says… At the same time, Queen Vashti gave a banquet for the women in the royal palace of King Xerxes (Esther 1:9 NLT) so Esther may have also caught glimpses of the women and admired their very beautiful gowns. Who knows? Maybe she had a moment of self-pity; Life isn’t fair. But she never would have dreamt that by the end of the party, her life would take a dramatic turn. On the seventh day of the party, Queen Vashti disobeyed her king and before she knew it, she was out the door (Esther 1:10-21).

As a result…Esther, along with many other young women, was brought to the king’s harem at the fortress of Susa and placed in Hegai’s care (Esther 2:8 NLT). She was provided with beauty treatments and assigned seven maids and… When it was time for her to go to the king’s palace, she was given her choice of whatever clothing or jewelry… (Esther 2:13 NLT) Before you know it, the king made her his queen and… to celebrate the occasion, he gave a great banquet in Esther’s honor for all his nobles and officials, declaring a public holiday for the provinces and giving generous gifts to everyone (Esther 2:18 NLT).

Her own party! Can things turn around that quickly for someone? God’s name isn’t mentioned once in the whole of Esther’s story and maybe after losing both parents, she may have felt abandoned by God but God who is the Father to the fatherless (Psalm 68:5) was silently working behind the scenes, preparing a place for her. You maybe feeling the Lord is extremely silent about your case but don’t give up; trust that He is at work and as you do so, I pray He perfects that which concerns you… in Jesus mighty name… Amen

24. July 2013 · Comments Off on DOES IT MEAN GOD DOESN’T LOVE YOU? · Categories: God's Plan, Jesus Christ, Love, Pain, Suffering

Any parent that circumcises their little baby boy knows the pain they’ve got to go through but they still allow them go through the procedure to cut off the unwanted flesh. How does the parent explain that to their crying baby? How do you explain to someone that has been through so much pain in life that God loves you?

Well… For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that HE [EVEN] GAVE UP HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN (UNIQUE) SON, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life (John 3:16 AMP).

Now the question to ask is if God loved His son when He gave Him up to suffer and die for you? God didn’t stop what was happening when Jesus cried “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” Does this mean God did not love Jesus? When Jesus appeared on the scene, the Lord made a public announcement… “This is my Son, WHOM I LOVE; WITH HIM I AM WELL PLEASED.” (Matthew 3:16-17 NIV). He repeated this statement again on the ‘Mount of Transfiguration’. By this time, Jesus had started predicting His own death but He didn’t die because His father didn’t love Him. He knew it was only a temporary situation… to save you whom His father so loved.

Unfortunately, because we have an enemy, bad things happen to us all… some more than others but nobody’s excluded. However, there’s always satan’s reason why things happen and God’s purpose why He allows them. The reason Jesus died on the cross was because satan wanted him off the scene but God’s purpose was so He could die to save you. The reason Joseph went to prison was because he was accused but God’s purpose was so He could meet the vessel that introduced him to the king. The reason Job lost everything was because satan wanted him to curse God but God’s purpose was to prove he was a true son and this became strengthened by a personal encounter with God. Job said… I had heard of You [only] by the hearing of the ear, but now my [spiritual] eye sees You (Job 42:5 AMP).

There may have been a time Job felt… how can God love me and allow me go through this? But God had weighed the situation and said… I created my son so I know the stuff he’s made off. Ok… Satan go ahead… give it your best shot and let’s see whose laughing last. God placed a boundary though and the reason you are still alive is because God has told satan how far he can go so don’t believe satan’s lies that God doesn’t love… that He isn’t watching over you.

Cutting off flesh is painful but if you know God’s purpose for your life now and for eternity, you would know He so loves you. God’s love can only be revealed not explained so why not ask Him to reveal… this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:19 NIV). GOD SO LOVES YOU.

God bless you

23. July 2013 · Comments Off on NO ONE TO TALK TO · Categories: Uncategorized

On Saturday, I attended an event to talk to women about letting go of past hurts, struggles and fears. During the questions and answers section, breaking into serious tears, a young lady obviously carrying so much hurt said she really wants to let go but doesn’t know how. Then she said…. “I’ve got no one to talk to.” That caught my attention. Though she was surrounded with friends, you could tell she felt very lonely. No one understood… just let it go they would say but is it that easy? The first thing that came out of my month was… BUT YOU HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT TO TALK TO. I wish I could lay hands on you and it would all go away but it’s something you have to work out with the help of the Holy Spirit. Cliché answer but it’s true. However, the problem is how to get people to talk to someone you can’t see.

If you are a Spirit filled believer, you are not alone. You may not see the Holy Spirit but He’s there with you. I live in a quiet neighbourhood and with British people being very reserved, I hardly see my neighbours. Occasionally, we see each other as I’m leaving the house or coming in. We exchange greetings and that’s about it but there are times we don’t see for weeks and you won’t hear a sound from their house either. But that does not mean that they are not around.

Similar thing with the Holy Spirit; He’s around and until you start a conversation with Him, you may not take advantage of His many services. Jesus said… the Comforter (COUNSELOR, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, STANDBY), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things… (John 14:26 AMP).

A physical COUNSELOR is a person trained to give guidance on personal, social, or psychological problems but no matter how great a counselor is, they are limited in knowledge. However, you have the opportunity to solicit advice and guidance from a more knowledgeable, all-knowing spiritual counselor. He may seem quiet but He is listening and He… goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance (Romans 8:26 AMP) and comes back with a reply. It may be a Bible verse, a phone call, something said on TV or what your little 3 year old son says.

When you sit in front of a counselor, they normally just let you talk while they listen. That’s the process… you just open your mouth and TALK so if you are desperately in need of someone to talk to today please just open your month and say what you need to say and He would definitely get back to you with an answer.

22. July 2013 · Comments Off on RELATIONAL ADVANTAGE · Categories: Fruit of the Spirit, God's Plan, Jesus Christ, Revelation, Spiritual Growth, Supernatural, Victory

When you have to write a message every day, you soon start to struggle with titles so to clear up any confusion this just means the advantage you have PURELY BASED ON YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD and nothing else.

Prophet Elijah used this position as a weapon against His enemies and won. King Ahaziah… sent an army captain with fifty soldiers to arrest him… The captain said to him, “MAN OF GOD, the king has commanded you to come down with us.” But Elijah replied to the captain, “IF I AM A MAN OF GOD, let fire come down from heaven and destroy you and your fifty men!” Then fire fell from heaven and killed them all (2 Kings 1:9-10 NLT).

They testified that he was a MAN OF GOD and I like that he used it against them. He said… IF I AM A MAN OF GOD… and because he was truly a MAN OF GOD, fire from heaven came down and consumed them. Second batch came and same thing happened. The third batch had to plead… PLEASE SPARE MY LIFE (2 Kings 1:9-14 NLT).

RELATIONAL ADVANTAGE is not based on the amount of fasting, prayer or long talk because there are times when the enemy would afflict you with a kind of weakness that you won’t be able to do anything. But aren’t you glad that Jesus said… His strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). This so happens to be our theme in church this year… ‘Year of supernatural enablement’ based on 1 Samuel 2:9… FOR BY STRENGTH SHALL NO MAN PREVAIL and early this year, I dreamt and saw myself in a house I grew up in, some people where trying to take something from me but I held tightly and was repeatedly calling out a non-English name. When I woke up, I asked some people from that part of the world and they said it meant… FOR BY STRENGTH SHALL NO MAN PREVAIL.

This month meant to be our month of fasting has been a real struggle… my weakest month and when the Lord opens your eyes to see the network of enemies in operation, I’m saying Lord, I need strength and I’m sure He laughed; This is a battle too big for you dear. Remember… BY STRENGTH SHALL NO MAN PREVAIL.

But I asked God… why are You revealing these things to me only now and He simply said because it’s only now you are killing your flesh. Hmmm… I can’t tell you how long the Lord has been saying… Be still and know that I’m God but now I understand what He’s been up to… killing my flesh.

Elijah’s weapon was his identity… A TRUE MAN OF GOD but let’s open the scope… For all who are led by the Spirit of God are CHILDREN OF GOD (Romans 8:14 NLT). Please meditate on Romans 8:12-14 and 1 John 3:10. The Lord says walk before me blameless and you don’t have to lift a finger against your enemies. As you do so, the Egyptians you see today, you shall see no more… By the power and the blood of Jesus Christ and in His name I say Amen
