Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite. “Has the Lord spoken only through Moses?” they asked. “Hasn’t he also spoken through us?” And the Lord heard this. (Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.) At once the Lord said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam, “Come out to the tent of meeting, all three of you.” So the three of them went out (Numbers 12:1-4).

Beloved, we sometimes think it is by power or by our might that we win some battles but in our feature text, despite Moses’ position and all his wonderful achievements, it was his humility that spoke for him. Miriam and Aaron took it upon themselves to hate on Moses but in his absence, his humility spoke… And the LORD said to them, “Now listen to what I say: “If there were prophets among you, I, the LORD, would reveal myself in visions. I would speak to them in dreams. But not with my servant Moses. Of my entire house, he is the one I trust. I speak to him face to face, clearly, and not in riddles! He sees the LORD as He is. So why were you not afraid to criticize my servant Moses?” The Lord was very angry with them, and He departed. As the cloud moved from above the Tabernacle, there stood Miriam, her skin as white as snow from leprosy… (Numbers 12:6-10 NLT)

“How dare you talk about my boy like that” was what the Lord was basically saying here.

Beloved, do you know that Mariam was Moses’ sister and Aaron his assistant pastor?

Being the person that Moses was, he even tried to plead Mariam’s case but the Lord must have said NO WAY… there are people I don’t joke with. The Lord said… keep her outside the camp for seven days, and after that she may be accepted back.” So Miriam was kept outside the camp for seven days… (Numbers 12:14-15 NLT)

Beloved, Miriam was publicly humiliated. Unfortunately, the thing you said in secret is now in the open. Everyone passing by would want to know what you did to warrant such embarrassment. Imagine people walking by and when they ask… What did you do Miriam? What do you think she would say?

Beloved, Humility is a great weapon to fight against your enemies. When you are humble, God will speak on your behalf. Why not let the Lord do the speaking and fighting for you?

Remember, the Bible says… You rescue the humble, but Your eyes watch the proud and humiliate them (2 Samuel 22:28 NLT).

I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice which I had heard addressing me… said, COME UP HERE, AND I WILL SHOW YOU WHAT MUST TAKE PLACE IN THE FUTURE. At once I came under the [Holy] Spirit’s power… (Revelation 4:1-2 AMPC).

Beloved, I recently heard someone says that it was only when they started flying that they saw that all the buildings that looked so massive from the ground level became very tiny from above and the size decreased as they went higher till they could hardly see anything.

So true and probably why John who wrote the Book of Revelation was shown great revelations about things to come from above. He said… INSTANTLY I WAS IN THE SPIRIT (NLT)… I WAS CAUGHT UP AT ONCE IN DEEP WORSHIP (MSG) and his eyes were indeed open to the kind of worship that takes place in heaven. In fact, the whole of Revelation 4 is dedicated to describing it but then the next chapter records John crying over NOTHING. John said… I began to weep bitterly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll and read it. But one of the twenty-four elders said to me, “Stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David’s throne, HAS WON THE VICTORY. He is worthy to open the scroll and its seven seals.” (Revelation 5:4-5 NLT).

“Really? Oh Okay”. I’m sure he must have asked himself… “why am I crying then? Everyone here is busy worshiping God and I am here crying over nothing”. The Amplified translation says Jesus has… OVERCOME AND CONQUERED…

Isn’t this what Jesus was trying to tell John and his other disciples when He said… I have told you all this so that you may have peace in Me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD.” (John 16:33 NLT)

Beloved, for John to get a revelation like this, he was not walking in the flesh but in the spirit. The flesh will tell you all the things that are wrong now but working in a spiritual dimension gives you insight into what the Lord is doing and the unstoppable victory that’s ahead regardless of your situation. WHILE JEREMIAH WAS STILL CONFINED in the courtyard of the guard, the Lord gave him this second message: “This is what the Lord says—the Lord who made the earth, who formed and established it, whose name is the Lord: Ask me and I WILL TELL YOU REMARKABLE SECRETS YOU DO NOT KNOW ABOUT THINGS TO COME (Jeremiah 33:1-3 NLT).

Beloved, the Lord wants you to come higher because those things that have blinded your vision looks tiny from above. You need to engage yourself in true worship; allowing the Holy Spirit to guide your life. You need to focus on developing your spiritual man so you are not tossed about by things going on around you.

Remember, things look so tiny from above.

BUT very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. They found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. So they went in, BUT they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus. As they stood there puzzled, two men suddenly appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes. The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, “WHY ARE YOU LOOKING AMONG THE DEAD FOR SOMEONE WHO IS ALIVE? (Luke 24:1-5 NLT)

Beloved, the word ‘BUT’ always marks the turning point in the life of anyone that submits to God’s plan and it does not matter the deadness of the situation. Jesus Christ submitted to His Father’s will; a plan where God allowed the enemy to think He was in charge for a while. The enemy tortured Jesus and gave Him the death sentence hoping that it would silence Him once and for all. The enemy thought they could get rid of Him… BUT God raised Him from the dead, freeing Him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on Him (Acts 2:24 NIV).

WHY ARE YOU LOOKING AMONG THE DEAD FOR SOMEONE WHO IS ALIVE? …This is the testimony of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and thanks to Him, this is also the testimony of many of us today. The enemy’s plan is for people to look for us in the cemetery so that the plan of God will not be fulfilled in our lives BUT if God is for us, who can be against us?

We saw this in the life of Joseph. His brothers thought they could abort his dream…Here comes the dreamer they said. Let’s kill him and then we’ll see what becomes of his dreams (Genesis 37:19-20). BUT many years later, he stop above them and said…You intended to harm me, BUT God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people (Genesis 50:20).

there’s that word again ‘BUT’ marking a turning point in his story.

Beloved, the enemy thought he could get rid of Jesus… BUT the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord. That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for THOSE WHO LOVE HIM (1 Corinthians 2:8-9 NLT).

Beloved, there’s that word again…BUT…

God has great plans for His children which CANNOT BE ABORTED. All you need to do is submit to His will…THOSE WHO LOVE HIM. It may look like the enemy has the upper hand BUT if God allows it then there is indeed a BUT coming… And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them. (Romans 8:28 NLT).

He rescued others from death; Himself He cannot rescue from death. He is the King of Israel? Let Him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in and acknowledge and cleave to Him (Matthew 27:42 AMPC).

Beloved, imagine being known as the one that hangs around Jesus. You have made sacrifices and given your all to follow Him and everybody knows it. You are very proud to be associated with the One that you have seen perform many wonderful miracles including raising people from the dead. You just know that things would be different now… I’ve found Jesus. But then, things take a different turn. You can’t understand it. It appears the One you looked up to for help is not able to help you.

It actually looks like He is in trouble Himself. His name is at stake as everyone is talking about how He cannot save Himself but somehow, you still have hope that something can still happen. After all, it is Jesus we are talking about. There’s still hope. But then, the very One that raised people from the dead, He himself dies and it seems like all hope is lost. Everything He has ever told you does not make sense anymore. Nothing adds up. Why have you left me like this?

Beloved, after Jesus died, His followers were confused. They thought that everything had failed. They said… but we were hoping that it was He Who would redeem and set Israel free…(Luke 24:21 AMPC).

To them, all hope was lost. In between the time Jesus died and the time He resurrected, there was complete silence. In fact, they hide from their enemies (John 20:19) because they felt that the enemy had the upper hand now and was out to finish them. The enemy also thought he had the upper hand. He thought his plans had worked out. The disciples were left all alone with no Savour to come to their rescue. They couldn’t see the Lord anymore but then, what they didn’t know was that Jesus had gone to fight the ultimate battle on their behalf behind the scenes. And on the third day, at the appointed time, Jesus shows up…and He was like…tell me what’s the latest gist in town. What are you guys discussing? (Luke 24:17)

Beloved, there are times when everything seems silent in our lives. It seems like nothing is happening. It may seem like Jesus has forgotten you but know that that’s when He is most at work; digging deep and reaching depths that no one else can reach; fixing things right from the very foundation and restoring your life.

The fact that you can’t see or sense Jesus working in your life does not mean He is not working. He is working behind the scenes to perfect every that concerns you. Be patient and wait for Sunday morning when you would realise that He has been perfecting all that concerns you.

Beloved, faint not! The Lord is bound to show up and surprise you in ways you never even imagined possible. Just hang in there.

23. January 2017 · Comments Off on BE PREPARED FOR THE BEST KIND OF NEWS YOU WERE NOT EXPECTING · Categories: God's Plan, Jesus Christ, Victory

Joseph is still alive!” they told him. “And he is governor of all the land of Egypt!” Jacob was stunned at the news—he couldn’t believe it. But when they repeated to Jacob everything Joseph had told them, and when he saw the wagons Joseph had sent to carry him, their father’s spirits revived. Then Jacob exclaimed, “It must be true! My son Joseph is alive! I must go and see him before I die.”‎ (Genesis 45:26-28 NLT)

Beloved, you know this story so well. You know how Jacob felt about releasing his son, Benjamin to go down to Egypt in the first place.‎ Jacob cried out… “You are robbing me of my children! Joseph is gone! Simeon is gone! And now you want to take Benjamin, too. Everything is going against me!”… “My son will not go down with you. His brother Joseph is dead, and he is all I have left. If anything should happen to him on your journey, you would send this grieving, white-haired man to his grave.”‎ (Genesis 42:36-38 NLT)

It took a lot of convincing to let Benjamin go and I can only just imagine the kind of things that were going through his mind. You know the devil is an expert at painting all kind of scenarios in your mind. “First time it was Joseph, then Simeon,‎ and then Benjamin. What if a wild animal devours all of them this time?

However, while he was thinking of all sort, this was the news that was getting ready to come to him…. “Now hurry back to my father and tell him, ‘This is what your son Joseph says: God has made me master over all the land of Egypt. So come down to me immediately!… I will take care of you there… Look! You can see for yourselves… that I really am Joseph! Go tell my father of my honored position here in Egypt. Describe for him everything you have seen, and then bring my father here quickly.” (Genesis 45:9-13 NLT)

Beloved, and then when they delivered the good news, they had to pinch Jacob to believe it. Isn’t it funny how we find it easier to believe the lie that the enemy wants us to believe than the truth. With blood on Joseph’s coat of many colours, it wasn’t even confirmed. Jacob assumed and bought into his own conclusion but here’s the truth and he struggled to believe. Hmmm… interesting

Beloved, are you expecting news? Don’t expect the worst. Don’t let the enemy cause you to meditate on the wrong things. Rather, throughout this week… whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things (Philippians 4.8 NKJV) and as you do so, I pray you receive the best kind of news you were not even expecting.

11. December 2016 · Comments Off on DO YOU HAVE A TESTIMONY? · Categories: God's Plan, Jesus Christ, Testimony, Victory

From my earliest youth my enemies have persecuted me, but they have never defeated me (Psalm 129:2 NLT).

Beloved, one of the songs I couldn’t get enough off in the past few days is ‘You made a way’ by Travis Greene with lyrics that says… “You made a way… When our backs were against the wall… And it looked as if it was over… You made a way… And we’re standing here… Only because you made a way… You move mountains… You cause walls to fall… With your power… You perform miracles… There is nothing that’s impossible… And we’re standing here… Only because you made a way…”

Beloved, that’s the testimony… We’re standing here… Only because You made a way…

Like I said, I couldn’t get enough of this song and yesterday, during my morning devotion, I came across our feature text. Immediately, I remembered the testimony I shared with friends and family this week about how the enemy has come after me right from my youth but has not prevailed. I do have a testimony and I’ve been led in this past week to share it even though many of you that follow my postings may already know.

Beloved, I’m only alive by the grace of God. In my life, I’ve survived many near death experiences. The first was a motorcycle accident at age 3 plus years old. The second was a ghastly motor vehicle accident where the bus I was in ran into a stationary bus. Only 2 of us survived out of all the passengers in the bus. I was gone until the Lord woke me up. The third was a fire incident where I was trap in a building with no fire exit. The fourth was a blood clot in my lungs and I was told by the doctor that if I hadn’t come to the hospital when I did…

And then, there are probably many more I don’t know about. I’ve had blood pressure readings of 210/110 plus where the doctor I went to see on my way back from work looked at me and said someone like you shouldn’t be walking around. I remember when my ex-husband left me and I was crying like a baby, the Lord spoke to me through a MOG and this is what He said “haven’t I saved your life from death so many times?”

Beloved, even in the past one week, the enemy has tried several times but for the Lord. The Voice translation of our feature text says…This is not the first time my enemies assaulted me; they have attacked me since I was young, and yet they have not been able to overpower me.

Beloved, why am I sharing this? it is because we are in the season where the enemy wants to remind you of all your storms and struggles but you have got to be intentional and go over your testimonies. Like the Bible says… And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony (Revelation 12:11 NLT).

Don’t keep quiet. Testify!

There was a long war between the house of Saul and the house of David; but David grew steadily stronger, while the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker [to the point of being powerless] (2 Samuel 3:1 AMP).

Beloved, we are in the last month of 2016 and as we were praying, the Lord placed our feature text in my heart. For many of us, this year has been a real battle. The enemy came full force to wear you out but to the glory of God, you are still standing. In our feature text, we are told that King David was in a long war against his enemy but it’s one thing to be in a battle and not come out victorious however, his testimony was that his enemy did not wear him out. He grew stronger and stronger while his enemy grew weaker and weaker.

To me, David represents many things; No doubt David was a man of war but he was also a worshipper. He knew how to praise and worship the Lord like non other. He was also very passionate about serving the Lord and doing the will of God. He wanted to please the Lord at all times and he didn’t grow weak because of his long battle with his enemies. His prayer life didn’t go weak. His worship didn’t go weak neither did his willingness to obey God. Rather, the fight made him stronger and stronger.

Beloved, no doubt, we’ve all been through some things this year, but if the Lord allowed it, it’s because He wants to strengthen you through the process. It’s because He wants you to experience the strength that comes from Christ. Apostle Paul said… Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time He said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong (2 Corinthians 12:8-10 NLT).

Jesus knew what we were up against. He came in the flesh and experienced every battle that we were ever going to face, hence the reason why He said… But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers.” (Luke 22:32 NLT). He also left us with the Holy Spirit who is our current help in times of need.

Beloved, the Lord is fighting for you pushing back the darkness and in the name of Jesus, the enemy is defeated. Endeavour to finish strong… having done all, stand (Ephesians 6:13).

Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:30-31 NLT).

The furnace was so hot and the king’s command carried out so quickly, without any precautions, that the soldiers who took Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego up to the furnace were themselves killed by the heat of the raging fire. And the three Jews, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, tied and bound, fell into the furnace of blazing fire (Daniel 3:22-23 Voice).

Beloved, last week, I shared a bit of my experience this year with someone who asked how I was doing and after listening to me they said “and you’re still smiling”. Well, I smiled back and repeated what he said… “I’m still smiling” but it made me think about the grace that God gives to us to go through some things that would literally kill others. I hear some people’s story and all I can do is thank God that I didn’t have to go through half of what they’ve been through.

Our feature text gives us a perfect picture of what I’m talking about. The soldiers who took Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego up to the very hot furnace couldn’t handle just the heat from the raging fire that they were thrown into. THEY WERE KILLED.

Beloved, if some people went through a quarter of the things you’ve been through, they won’t be here today but you are still standing and are in your right mind to the amazement of the likes of Nebuchadnezzar who are watching you.

We are told that… Nebuchadnezzar jumped up in amazement and exclaimed to his advisers, “Didn’t we tie up three men and throw them into the furnace?” “Yes, Your Majesty, we certainly did,” they replied. “Look!” Nebuchadnezzar shouted. “I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like a god!” (Daniel 3:24-25 NLT)

They were walking around in the fire unharmed. The Voice translation says… They don’t appear to be hurt at all… The officers, prefects, governors, and king’s advisors moved closer to see what had happened to these men. They, too, could hardly believe their eyes. The fire had done nothing to harm these men. Their hair was not singed. Their clothes were not scorched. They didn’t have the faintest smell of smoke on them (Daniel 3:25, 27 Voice).

What a testimony! Jesus kept them from harm and the greatest testimony was that they all got to see the God that they served and couldn’t help but praise Him. King Nebuchadnezzar said… Praise is certainly due the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego today. He sent His heavenly representative and rescued His servants who put their trust in Him… (Daniel 3:28 Voice).

Beloved, the Lord will not allow you go through more than you can handle. He would always offer a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13). I remember clearly the Lord telling me at the beginning of this year that there’s a grace over me for what I was about to go through. Just like He told Apostle Paul… My grace is all you need… (2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT)

Beloved, has the Lord seen you through what would kill others? If so, why not thank Him.

01. November 2016 · Comments Off on BREAK THAT OLD RECORD AND RELEASE A NEW SONG · Categories: Action, God's Plan, Jesus Christ, Praise, Trusting God, Victory

And He has put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many shall see and fear (revere and worship) and put their trust and confident reliance in the Lord (Psalm 40:3 AMPC).

Beloved, its November and we are fast approaching the end of the year and if there’s anything the enemy knows how to do especially at this time is play a record of all your problems and the things you haven’t achieved and if you haven’t deliberately broken that record, he would keep at it. However, it’s time to sing a new song. Last week, the Lord put a new song in my mouth which was simply… ‘I will exalt You… You are my God’ by Hillsong. I later understood that He wanted me to start exalting Him full stop. It was like I wasn’t given permission to say anything else.

Our feature text says the Lord… has put a new song in my mouth… but not just any song; not a song of mourning or of weeping or of disappointment but a song of praise. Also, this isn’t a song of praise to man… not your employer, bank manager, friend etc. It is praise to our God because only He can do what He intends to do.

Many shall see… This isn’t the kind of song you sing in your secret place only but many shall see…. everybody around you will see and would fear and place their trust in your God. Your case would be like that of Moses and the Israelites. As they were escaping from their enemies, they came to the red sea. It looked like a dead end and the people started freaking out but then… Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” (Exodus 14:13-14 NKJV)

True to his words, the Lord fought their battle for them… The Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea and their waters covered the chariots, the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them. Not so much as one of them remained (Exodus 14:27-28 NKJV)… So the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore. Thus Israel saw the great work which the Lord had done in Egypt; so the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord and His servant Moses (Exodus 14:30-31 NKJV).

Beloved, this is going to be your testimony. All the enemies that have been chasing you right from January till now, with just one little action from the Lord, you will see them no more and you will rejoice with a new song.

… Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the Lord, and spoke, saying: “I will sing to the Lord, For He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea! (Exodus 15:1 NKJV)

Beloved, if you believe this, why not start singing your new song?

31. October 2016 · Comments Off on THE BATTLE THE LORD ORCHESTRATES · Categories: God's Plan, Jesus Christ, Restoration, Revelation, Suffering, Trusting God, Victory

Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day (Genesis 32:24 NKJV).

Beloved, there was a very low moment in Jacob’s life when he found he had to face his struggles all alone. He needed some alone time to figure out the direction his life was taking so he sent his family away and was all alone. During that period, Jacob happened to have wrestled all night long with an unknown man. At that point in his life, he was running away from quite a few people so it could have been anybody. It could have been his twin brother whom he had stolen his birth right from. It could have been his uncle, Laban or maybe one of his uncle’s sons because… Jacob heard Laban’s sons complaining, Jacob has taken away all that was our father’s; he has acquired all this wealth and honor from what belonged to our father (Genesis 31:1 AMPC).

So, you see; Jacob was bound to think he was wrestling with an enemy. This night battle went on for a while and recently, someone highlighted the fact that Jacob wrestled when others went into rest. They then asked the question whether anyone knows what it is to still be battling when all your mates are married… have children… a good career etc…

Anyway, Jacob wrestled with this unknown figure all night and as morning drew near, they decided it was time to exchange pleasantries. The unknown man asked for Jacob’s name and Jacob told him. So in return… Jacob said, “Please tell me your name.” But he replied, “Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there. So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, “It is because I SAW GOD FACE TO FACE, and yet my life was spared.” (Genesis 32:29-30 NIV)

Ok, so it is probably not too polite that our unknown figure did not reply Jacob’s question but what am I trying to say here? Though he didn’t tell him his name, after the long battle that seemed like it would never come to an end; after the long struggle and then the blessing that was bestowed on Jacob, Jacob must have come to the realisation that this can only be God. He said… I SAW GOD FACE TO FACE…

Beloved, when we go through certain battles in life, they can be so tough that we most often think it is the enemy we are battling with. But it isn’t until the battle is all over and you’ve prevailed and come out on the other side that you suddenly realise that it wasn’t really about the devil. It was actually orchestrated by God.

Beloved, the purpose of the battle is to change your name and character from what you were previously known by and to give you a new status fit for the blessing of the Lord. If only you can hang in there till it is morning time, you too would realise that the battle you fought this year was DEFINITELY ORCHESTRATED BY GOD.
