Even though they may look or act like godly people, they’re not. They deny His power. I tell you: Stay away from the likes of these. They’re snakes slithering into the houses of vulnerable women, women gaudy with sin, to seduce them. These reptiles can capture them because these women are weak and easily swayed by their desires (2 Timothy 3:5-6 Voice).

Beloved, this post may not be for everyone but it’s something that I’ve been prompted to share. One of the many cases the Lord is dealing with in this season is that of the so-called Christian brothers who go from church to church and like what our feature text highlights, their victim are vulnerable women who in most cases are desperate for love, affection and attention and so would jump on any Christian brother that claims to be single. I say so-called Christian brother because they look the part, talk the talk, even speak in tongues but they are not what they claim to be. Again, like our feature text says… Even though they may look or act like godly people, they’re not. They need to truly surrender to God.

Unfortunately, like the way satan deceived Eve, these men are experts at twisting the word of God and because these vulnerable women are not well grounded in the Word, they fall prey. However, once these men get what they want, it’s good bye see you later and they are on to the next woman who is gullible enough to fall prey.

Beloved, while its had to think that this is happening in the body of Christ, unfortunately, it is and many vulnerable women have fallen victim to it. However, I know when I hear the Lord and He has heard their cries and though He may have allowed you to go through some things just to humble you and get your attention, it’s time for these so-called players to either repent or face the judgement of God. This is a case of how the Lord first used nations like Babylon to humble the Israelites. However, after humbling the Israelites, He then took it in turns to deal with these nations; “How dare you treat My children like that?

Beloved, unfortunately, we tend to do things to God’s children thinking that we can get away with it. We think no one sees us but the Bible says… Do not be deceived, God is not mocked [He will not allow Himself to be ridiculed, nor treated with contempt nor allow His precepts to be scornfully set aside]; for whatever a man sows, this and this only is what he will reap (Galatians 6:7 AMP) and… Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right [by executing just and righteous judgment]? (Genesis 18:25 AMP). SELAH!

Women, especially single women need to be very careful and be on guard. Like the Bible says… Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8 AMP).

Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I WILL TAKE REVENGE; I WILL PAY THEM BACK,” SAYS THE LORD (Romans 12:19 NLT).

…And I’m sure the question many would ask is… ‘when would that be?’ We tend to think God is too slow. When you’ve been greatly offended and you know you are within your rights to defend yourself and retaliate and the Lord says… shhh… hold your peace; isn’t that a great sacrifice? It’s indeed painful having to act like a fool especially when you know that your enemies are thinking in their head that they’ve won. There’s something about our ego that doesn’t like that because it makes us seem weak. However, let’s not mistake MEEKNESS for WEAKNESS. It actually takes greater strength to walk away from such a situation.

As Jesus was crucified, He looked down at the same people crucifying Him and… Jesus said, “Father, FORGIVE THEM, for they don’t know what they are doing.”… (Luke 23:34 NLT)

Who does that? Well there’s Joseph whose thinking had to rise above what his brothers did to him in order to fully embrace God’s will for him which turned out to be very good and pleasing and perfect.

Apostle Paul doesn’t just stop at asking us to hold revenge, he goes on to say… Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them… Never pay back evil with more evil… Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone… Instead, “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.” Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good (Romans 12:14-21 NLT)

You must be kidding Paul… you’re taking this too far now. You would be surprised that many Christians won’t agree with this but things weren’t written in the Bible just for fun. If you want to see God walk in a dimension that is out of this world in your life, I’ve learnt that these are some of the things you have got to lay on your altar of sacrifice.

Jesus did it. In order to embrace God’s perfect will, He humbled Himself… loved unconditionally… resisted the urge to revenge; acting against the normal behavior of this world. He became the ultimate sacrifice… and so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him. DON’T COPY THE BEHAVIOR AND CUSTOMS OF THIS WORLD, but LET GOD TRANSFORM YOU INTO A NEW PERSON BY CHANGING THE WAY YOU THINK. Then you will learn to know GOD’S WILL FOR YOU, WHICH IS GOOD AND PLEASING AND PERFECT (Romans 12:1-2 NLT).

God bless you

When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “What if Joseph holds a grudge against us and pays us back for all the wrongs we did to him?” So they sent word to Joseph, saying, “Your father left these instructions before he died: ‘This is what you are to say to Joseph: I ask you to forgive your brothers the sins and the wrongs they committed in treating you so badly.’ Now please forgive the sins of the servants of the God of your father.” When their message came to him, Joseph wept (Genesis 50:15-17 NIV).

Joseph wept out of true love for them. He was probably grieved that they carried such burden. But I have forgiven you… I hold nothing against you. They really could not comprehend that he held nothing against them. But that’s because when you’ve done something really bad, you don’t expect that you would be let off the hook that easily. You think the person you have offended holds a grudge against you. You always expect to be paid back in some sort of way. The guilt alone torments you day and night and you are full of condemnation. But the person has let it go long time ago. Joseph obviously had. God had blessed him beyond measure. His hands were full to the brim with the Lord’s blessing. He didn’t have room for bitterness, unforgiveness or the time to plot revenge.

We can see that Joseph was a free man but his brothers obviously weren’t… His brothers then came and threw themselves down before him. “We are your slaves,” they said. But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God?… (Genesis 50:18-19 NIV). I have forgiven you. Stop living in fear and tormenting yourself.

Now if that is mere man what about Jesus? Stop being a slave to that guilt. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free… (Galatians 5:1 NIV). GENUINE repentance is what is needed. Do it and put the past behind… if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV).

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: BUT DAVID ENCOURAGED HIMSELF IN THE LORD HIS GOD (1 Samuel 30:6 KJV).

Don’t be deceived, leadership can be a great burden. What do you do when all odds are against you and all the people that look up to you now turn against you because they no longer have faith in you? They are very distressed but you too are also distressed. Times like that can be overwhelming but it’s not the time to give up. Rather it’s the time to turn to the Lord.

David had just been sent back home, rejected from going to battle with the Philistines, only to find out that they had been raided. Their town was burned to the ground, and their wives and children taken as prisoners. David and his men wept until they were exhausted. Out of frustration, his men turned on him. It’s your fault David. They were about to stone him to death. May be it would make them feel better. But David didn’t say his last prayer. NO. He turned to God.

The Amplified Bible says …DAVID ENCOURAGED AND STRENGTHENED HIMSELF IN THE LORD HIS GOD. He must have remembered all the promises God had made to him and knowing that they still had to be fulfilled, he determined in his heart that this can’t be the end. He asked God for strength, reaffirmation and direction.

David prayed to God, “Shall I go after these raiders? Can I catch them?” The answer came, “Go after them! Yes, you’ll catch them! Yes, you’ll make the rescue!” (1 Samuel 30:7-8 MSG)

David found renewed strength. He went after that devil… David pounced. He fought them from before sunrise until evening of the next day. None got away except for four hundred of the younger men who escaped by riding off on camels. David rescued everything the Amalekites had taken. And he rescued his two wives! Nothing and no one was missing—young or old, son or daughter, plunder or whatever. David recovered the whole lot. He herded the sheep and cattle before them, and they all shouted, “David’s plunder!” (1 Samuel 30:17-20 MSG)

That’s how the story ends. Had David given up, he would have lost everything… What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31 NKJV).

Don’t think of quitting. Find strength in the Lord. Blank out everything and turn to His word. He will tell you how ‘He will never leave nor forsake you’. He will tell you that ‘you are more than a conqueror’. He will show you the way out. He will tell you the victory that is ahead of you.

God bless you

There’s a popular saying from where I come from that “every day is for the thief but one day is for the owner of the house”. Are you in a situation where it seems like those that are plotting evil against you are getting away with it? It seems like the thief keeps coming and you are wondering…when will I see this day for the owner of the house? This is a word for you.

Romans 12:19 (AMP) gives us an instruction…Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for [God’s] wrath; for it is written, VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY (requite), says the Lord.

VENGEANCE IS MINE …The Message translation says “I’ll do the judging,” says God. I’ll take care of it.”

But when Lord? There are times when you expect the Lord to take a JET to arrive at the scene but instead He decides to take a long walk and you’re wondering “when are you going to get there?”

Psalm 37:7(AMP) says – Be still and rest in the Lord; wait for Him and patiently lean yourself upon Him; fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.

I must confess that the phrase ‘BE STILL’ sometimes gets on my nerves. Lord, with all due respect, what are You waiting for? How much more do You want them to get away with before You act? What are You doing?

King David gives us an insight to what He is doing… 12 The wicked plot against the [uncompromisingly] righteous (the upright in right standing with God); they gnash at them with their teeth. 13 THE LORD LAUGHS AT [THE WICKED], for He sees that their own day [of defeat] is coming (Psalm 37:12-13 AMP).

THE LORD LAUGHS AT [THE WICKED]…I can just imagine when Pharaoh thought he had the power to hold the Israelites back in captivity…The Lord must have been laughing…Look at this small boy that I created…And in one day, the red sea opened and oops Pharaoh where are you now?

Yes, the Lord created your enemies… I create the blacksmith who fires up his forge and makes a weapon designed to kill. I also create the destroyer (Isaiah 54:16 MSG)…so what power do they have that the Lord cannot save you from? It’s only a matter of time. The Lord may have decided to take a long walk but it’s because He is giving your enemy enough time to dig the pit that they themselves will fall into (Psalm 35:7-8).

So what do I do? Simple…Continue to PUT YOUR HOPE IN THE LORD. TRAVEL STEADILY ALONG HIS PATH. He will honor you by giving you the land. You will see the wicked destroyed (Psalm 37:34 NLT).

I pray that the Lord rounds up the activities of those that plot evil against us…that we receive the grace to TRAVEL STEADILY ALONG HIS PATH without distractions…that we receive the grace to be patient as we watch the Lord make our enemies our footstool. I also pray that we recover the land the enemy stole from us. In the mighty name Jesus Christ. Amen

As a genuine child of God, there are times when you need to ask yourself a simple question; WHO IS IN CONTROL of my life? A true revelation of this question will give you a fresh perspective on how you view things.

I am sure with everything that Pharaoh put the Israelites through; he thought he was in control but little did he know that he was only a tool in the Lord’s hand to accomplish His purpose. All those times when Pharaoh said I will not let you go…Get out of here you lazy fools; I will increase your workload…who is your God?…He must have thought, I control your life and destiny.

Pharaoh believed he was in the control when he said “I will not let you go”…The Israelites who were the recipients of his evil works also thought he was in control but was he really?

Exodus 4:21 (AMP) says – And the Lord said to Moses, When you return into Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all those miracles and wonders which I have put in your hand; BUT I WILL MAKE HIM STUBBORN AND HARDEN HIS HEART, so that he will not let the people go.

BUT I WILL MAKE HIM STUBBORN AND HARDEN HIS HEART…The Lord did not say that he will be stubborn…He said… I WILL MAKE HIM STUBBORN AND HARDEN HIS HEART and He said it again just as a reminder to let them know it would definitely happen…

Exodus 3:19-20 (AMP) says – 19 And I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go [unless forced to do so], no, not by a mighty hand. 20 So I will stretch out My hand and smite Egypt with all My wonders which I will do in it; and AFTER THAT HE WILL LET YOU GO.

Hmmm…The Israelites had to go through a lot no doubt and like the saying goes…’When two elephants fight, it’s the grass that suffers’ but the enemy is no match for our Lord. If you are in a position where the enemy has intensified his forces and it seems like it’s taking too long for the Lord to come to your rescue, know that your ‘AFTER THAT HE WILL LET YOU GO’ is coming…The Lord is in control and He is stretching out His mighty hand to bring about a big overthrow…The Egyptians you see today you will never see again (Exodus 14:13).

And your troubles will not be for nothing…You will not come out empty-handed… Exodus 3:21-22 (MSG) says – I’ll see to it that this people get a hearty send-off by the Egyptians—when you leave, you won’t leave empty-handed! Each woman will ask her neighbor and any guests in her house for objects of silver and gold, for jewelry and extra clothes; you’ll put them on YOUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS. Oh, you’ll clean the Egyptians out!”

YOUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS…There are some battles you have to endure so that God can hand you total victory because the reward is not just for you but for your children…your generations to come…

Know today that GOD IS IN CONTROL and you will definitely come out victorious

Proverbs 25:21-22 (AMP) says – 21 If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; 22 For in doing so, YOU WILL HEAP COALS OF FIRE UPON HIS HEAD, and the Lord will reward you.

Oh…how we so interpret this to mean the more good I do to my enemy, the greater their punishment is…So if my enemy asks for £20, I’ll give £40…That ought to increase the amount of coal that will burn them. LOL…Wrong Motives…well, maybe you’ve never been there… Maybe I’m all alone in this…Well God has had to do and is still doing a lot of work on me…PRAY FOR ME

HEAPS OF COAL…shouldn’t be misinterpreted as a revengeful act intended to punish its victim. It’s about the emotional discomfort one feels when you arouse their conscience about how they’ve treated you and the aim is to bring them to repentance. It is also a picture of the procedure undertaken by Aaron the high priest on the Day of Atonement (See Lev. 16:12).

Let’s look at Joseph’s story again. His brothers sold him into slavery and he left Canaan on camels…but that’s not how he came back. The first time he visited Canaan again was when his father died…Genesis 50:7-9 (AMP) says – 7 And Joseph went up [to Canaan] to bury his father; and with him went ALL THE OFFICIALS OF PHARAOH—the nobles of his court, and the elders of his house and all the nobles and elders of the land of Egypt — 8 And all the household of Joseph and HIS BRETHREN and his father’s household… 9 And there went with [Joseph] both CHARIOTS AND HORSEMEN; and IT WAS A VERY GREAT COMPANY.

God definitely knows how to showcase those He blesses…IT WAS A VERY GREAT COMPANY…one that included HIS BRETHREN…HIS BROTHER…Can you imagine how his brother felt the whole time after they realised he wasn’t dead…The times when they had to come to him for food…The time he brought them and everything they had out of suffering to a land where they were well taken care off…

Oh…they enjoyed every bit of it but they were never at ease…I’m not even sure whether ‘ENJOYED’ is the right word to use because even though Joseph told them it was all in the past, they still lived in fear because… Genesis 50:15-21 (NKJV) says – 15 When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “PERHAPS JOSEPH WILL HATE US, AND MAY ACTUALLY REPAY US FOR ALL THE EVIL WHICH WE DID TO HIM.” 16 So they sent messengers to Joseph, saying, “Before your father died he commanded, saying, 17 ‘Thus you shall say to Joseph: “I beg you, please forgive the trespass of your brothers and their sin; for they did evil to you.”’ Now, please, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of your father.” And Joseph wept when they spoke to him. 18 Then his brothers also went and fell down before his face, and they said, “Behold, we are your servants.” 19 Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for AM I IN THE PLACE OF GOD? 20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. 21 Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.

‘HEAPS OF COAL’ REWARD…That will do me any day…Joseph focused on God’s goodness and not his brothers evil…And the Lord rewarded him.

Are you constantly looking back to find out what has happened to those that have done you wrong? Change your focus. Stop looking back to hear how God has dealt with your enemy. It’s a waste of energy. Your hands maybe too full to receive what God has in stock for you. Rather change your focus and see how God wants to bless YOU through that experience.

God bless you
