You will arise and have compassion on Zion, For it is time to be gracious and show favor to her; Yes, the appointed time [the moment designated] has come (PSALM 102:13 AMP).

Beloved, I remember listening to someone say this about Queen Esther. They said something that went like this; I don’t know if Esther was truly the most beautiful girl amongst all those that presented themselves before the king but, when it’s your appointed time, the Lord begins to download information about you into the hearts of the people that He has appointed to favor you. So, that way, they only see what the Lord wants them to see.

This made me think and I began to renew my mind about the way I saw things and I’ve seen the proof this year. When it’s your set time, it’s not about how good, qualified and perfect you are before people. That’s not their point of reference at all. Their point of reference is from the download they’ve received from the Lord. So, they don’t see your flaws or mistakes. They don’t see that you are unqualified. All they see and know is that I’ve been sent to favor this person.

Beloved, Queen Esther was raised up as an orphan but she had ridiculous favor from the Lord because her appointed time to favor her had come. It was also about the Lord’s plan to rescue His people; the reason why we must endeavour to seek His will. Jesus was about His Father’s business (Luke 2:49). His food was to do His Father’s will (John 4:34) and He taught us to… “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. ‘Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven (MATTHEW 6:9‭-‬10, AMP).

Beloved, yesterday, I shared how King David said… Lord, my heart is not proud, nor my eyes haughty; Nor do I involve myself in great matters, Or in things too difficult for me (PSALM 131:1 AMP). Most times, we involve ourselves in great matters, or in things too difficult for us all because we want to get noticed or prove something to certain people but it’s not so much about personal recommendation; “I recommend myself” but it’s about God’s recommendation; “I recommend this person”. And when He does that, be sure to know that He has downloaded all the information they need to work with.

Remember… For not from the east nor from the west nor from the south come promotion and lifting up. But God is the Judge! He puts down one and lifts up another (Psalm 75:6‭-‬7 AMPC).

Interestingly, I found a new translation; ‘The Passion Translation (TPT) today on Bible Gateway website and this is how it translations this Scripture… This I know: THE FAVOR THAT BRINGS PROMOTION and power doesn’t come from anywhere on earth, for no one exalts a person but God, the true judge of all. He alone determines where favor rests. He anoints one for greatness and brings another down to his knees.

Beloved, it’s all about the Lord’s favor.

So don’t get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time you will reap a harvest of blessing if you don’t give up. Therefore, whenever you have the opportunity, you should do good to everyone… (Galatians 6:9-10 NLT).

Beloved, in the story of the prodigal son, you could almost hear the frustration coming from the elder brother. As he was approaching home, he heard noise from a party thrown for his younger brother. What? I can’t believe what I’m hearing… “The older brother was angry and wouldn’t go in. His father came out and begged him, but he replied, ‘All these years I’ve slaved for you and never once refused to do a single thing you told me to. And in all that time you never gave me even one young goat for a feast with my friends. Yet when this son of yours comes back after squandering your money on prostitutes, you celebrate by killing the fattened calf!’ (Luke 15:28-30 NLT)

Well, there’s always this tendency to think ‘WHAT ABOUT ME? I’ve been faithful. I was the one that did this, this and that and if it were not for me, this won’t have happened. ‘WHAT ABOUT ME?

Beloved, relax, the Lord hasn’t forgotten about you. Having read the Book of Esther and the role Mordecia played in her life; raising her up when her parents died and all of the wonderful things he did for her, the king and God’s people, there’s this tiny voice that wants to say it’s all about Esther. She’s the one that becomes queen. It’s possible for that voice to speak especially as Mordecia was actually forgotten for a while until one day the king said… “What reward or recognition did we ever give Mordecai for this?” the king asked. His attendants replied, “Nothing has been done for him.” (Esther 6:3 NLT)

Mordecia was rewarded for his good deeds and though we call it the Book of Esther, do you know the story did not end with Esther? It ended with Mordecia. The very last verse in the Book of Esther says… Mordecai the Jew became the prime minister, with authority next to that of King Xerxes himself. He was very great among the Jews, who held him in high esteem, because he continued to work for the good of his people and to speak up for the welfare of all their descendants (Esther 10:3 NLT).

Beloved… GOD IS NOT UNJUST; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them (Hebrews 6:10 NIV). All your hard work, your labour of love hasn’t gone unnoticed and like our feature text says… let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all… (MSG).

…What exalts someone doesn’t come from the east or west; it’s not from the south either. Rather it is God who is the judge. He brings this person down, but that person He lifts up (Psalm 75:6-7 CEB).

Beloved, I remember listening to the testimony of a lady who shared about a time she attended a mentorship programme. She said in the room, she was surrounded by people with such big titles that she felt totally out of place. As a result, she didn’t think she would have the chance of ever meeting with the mentor on a one to one basis so immediately the meeting was over, she took her bags and left.

However, in the hall way, while she was on her mobile phone, this well-known and established mentor came walking by with his huge entourage. He had already walked past her, however, about a few seconds later, he turned back and according to her, called her over and offered her an opportunity of a life time. Immediately, she heard the Lord tell her that “I told you that you don’t have to manipulate your way into what I’ve got planned for you. You don’t have to beg nobody; you haven’t got to drop no complimentary cards; nothing”. She said she was so glad that she stayed in her place because when the Lord is ready to promote you to the next level, He knows exactly where to find you.

Beloved, it’s interesting to think about all the things we do to exalt ourselves and get recognised but Jesus teaches us a simple lesson in humility. He said… “When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for a person more distinguished than you may have been invited. If so, the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, ‘Give this person your seat.’ Then, humiliated, you will have to take the least important place. But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, ‘Friend, move up to a better place.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all the other guests. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” (Luke 14:8-11 NIV)

Beloved, what am I trying to say?

Promotion comes neither from the east nor from the west but from the Lord. Don’t’ loose sleepless nights over your next move. Why not just continue remaining faithful and see how the Lord directs your steps? He knows which doors He has opened for you and He knows where to locate you and He is the One that will usher you to the front seat.

Remember, you must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had and humble yourself and at the right time the Lord Himself will elevate you (Philippians 2:5-11 NLT).
