Then the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah [giving him supernatural strength]. He girded up his loins and outran Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel [nearly twenty miles] (1 Kings 18:46 AMP).

…GOD SPEED

Beloved, this was the phrase that was impressed in my spirit as I woke up yesterday morning and immediately my mind went to our feature text where the Prophet Elijah was given supernatural strength to get ahead. Perhaps, you are someone that has experienced so many delays for whatever reason. It could be because you have dwelt in one place long enough but as you decide to move forward and walk by faith, you don’t need to start worrying about what the enemy is telling you about all the time you have lost. This is because we serve a God that can redeem the times. We serve a God who is able to make things happen quickly.

The Message Translation of our feature text says… Things happened fast. The sky grew black with wind-driven clouds, and then a huge cloudburst of rain, with Ahab hightailing it in his chariot for Jezreel. And God strengthened Elijah mightily. Pulling up his robe and tying it around his waist, Elijah ran in front of Ahab’s chariot until they reached Jezreel (1 Kings 18:45-46 MSG).

Beloved, this is not the time to start worrying about limited time. However, it is time to get on your knees and ask the Lord for help so that He can empower you with the special supernatural strength, might and the kind of speed that He gave to Elijah to outrun the chariots.

It’s also the time to get serious. No more messing around. You don’t want to look back and regret any further for achieving nothing. I like that Elijah had to get rid of anything that would slow him down. He tucked his cloak into his belt and ran ahead of Ahab’s chariot (NLT).

Beloved, what this tells me is that it does not matter who has left you behind or how much you need to catch up. You can still catch up but you’ve got to be determined and get serious. So, why not ask the Lord for the kind of speed that outruns chariots and then see what happens? Remember, Apostle Paul said… I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace] (Philippians 4:13 AMP).

…but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits (Daniel 11:32 KJV).

Beloved, do you know that it is how well you really know God that would determine how you respond to situations? We hear that in obedience, Abraham brought his son for sacrifice to the Lord but there was some reasoning behind his obedience. We are told that… It was by faith that Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice when God was testing him. Abraham, who had received God’s promises, was ready to sacrifice his only son, Isaac, even though God had told him, “Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted.” Abraham REASONED that if Isaac died, GOD WAS ABLE TO BRING HIM BACK TO LIFE AGAIN. And in a sense, Abraham did receive his son back from the dead (Hebrews 11:17-20 NLT).

Abraham reasoned that ‘MY GOD IS ABLE’. The same was the case with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They dared King Nebuchadnezzar and again there was the same reasoning behind it which was that ‘OUR GOD IS ABLE’… Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, THE GOD WHOM WE SERVE IS ABLE TO SAVE US. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty (Daniel 3:16-17 NLT).

Beloved, we also see this in the case of Daniel when he was thrown into the lion’s den for refusing to stop praying to his God but then the king could not sleep… Very early the next morning, the king got up and hurried out to the lions’ den. When he got there, he called out in anguish, “Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you serve so faithfully, ABLE TO RESCUE YOU FROM THE LIONS?” Daniel answered, “Long live the king! My God sent his angel to shut the lions’ mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in his sight. And I have not wronged you, Your Majesty.” (Daniel 6:19-22 NLT)

These people were able to convince the king that our God is able. Elijah showed off the mighty power of His God and converted people to God. He said… O Lord, answer me! Answer me so these people will know that you, O Lord, are God and that you have brought them back to yourself.” Immediately the fire of the Lord flashed down from heaven and burned up the young bull, the wood, the stones, and the dust. It even licked up all the water in the trench! And when all the people saw it, they fell face down on the ground and cried out, “THE LORD—HE IS GOD! YES, THE LORD IS GOD!” (1 Kings 18:33-39 NLT)

Beloved, God is the same, yesterday, today and forever. The people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits but the question is… HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW YOUR GOD?

The world is waiting for us (Romans 8:19). It’s time to give room for God to start doing the supernatural in our lives.

But when Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became furious, completely enraged, and he ridiculed the Jews. He spoke before his brothers and the army of Samaria, “What are these feeble Jews doing? Can they restore it for themselves? Can they offer sacrifices? Can they finish in a day? Can they revive the stones from the heaps of dust and rubbish, even the ones that have been burned?” (Nehemiah 4:1‭-‬2 AMP)

Beloved, I have a background in project management and one of the jobs of a project manager is to identify and document up front, all the possible risks that could happen on a project. This is so that you can then begin to identify what measures need to be put in place just in case this or that happens.

When I was in full-time employment working on projects, we used to have project teams and I remember making jokes about a colleague who was always talking about what is wrong or what’s going to go wrong and I use to say such a person would be good on your project team so you know you are covered. That’s because they can just help you identify everything that is going to go wrong upfront so you know what to do.

Beloved, have you ever been around people that all they see is problems but never come up with a solution? Those that have a list of reasons why you can’t do what you have set out to do? As I was reading our feature text, that’s what came to mind. Sanballat tried to ridicule the work Nehemiah and his team was doing with all the “can they do…?” He tried to discourage them and he was not alone. Tobiah joined in… and he said, “Even what they are building–if a fox should get up on it, he would break down their stone wall.” (Nehemiah 4:3 AMP)

Well, thanks Tobiah for reminding me that I can’t afford to build this with any kind of material… only the best of best.

Beloved, that’s quality assurance sorted but how did Nehemiah respond?

[And Nehemiah prayed] Hear, O our God, how we are despised… (Nehemiah 4:4 AMP)

He prayed to God and according to my Bible notes… it is difficult to work in a hostile environment. Ambition, courage, and preparation are important in a situation like this, and so is prayer. If we are not careful to ask God to help us, our fear can cripple us as much as the animosity of our enemies. No matter how prepared we may be for a crisis, the power of God is the ultimate factor in determining whether we win or lose.

Beloved, situations like this should only remind us that we need God because He is the One that makes it happen. Don’t give in to “I can’t” or “you can’t”. Remember… I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.] (Philippians 4:13 AMP)

Now in a great house there are not only vessels and objects of gold and silver, but also vessels and objects of wood and of earthenware, and some are for honorable (noble, good) use and some for dishonorable (ignoble, common). Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things [which are dishonorable—disobedient, sinful], he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified [set apart for a special purpose and], useful to the Master, prepared for every good work (2 Timothy 2:20-22 AMP).

Beloved, I was listening to someone say that many want to be like all the great personalities we hear about all over the world or we see on TV. In the church world, we want to be like that Bishop, Pastor, Prophet or Apostle who is so gifted and anointed. However, we shouldn’t be seen chasing after personality. Rather, we should humble ourselves before God and ask Him to tell us what it was about their character that made Him raise them to their position.

The Bible gives us great examples. We know about David who was a great worshiper and a man after God’s own heart. We are also told that… David shepherded them with the HONOR AND INTEGRITY OF HIS HEART; he led them in wisdom with strong and skillful hands (Psalm 78:72 Voice)

Moses was another great man of God but he is known for his humility… For his part, Moses was a uniquely humble fellow, more humble than anyone in the entire world (Numbers 12:3 Voice).

Beloved, even Jesus… Though He was in the form of God, He chose not to cling to equality with God; But He poured Himself out to fill a vessel brand new; a servant in form and a man indeed. The very likeness of humanity, He humbled Himself, obedient to death— a merciless death on the cross! So God raised Him up to the highest place and gave Him the name above all (Philippians 2:6-9 Voice)

Beloved, we are to seek after the character that made God raise them up. And then when you think of the process they had to go through. Our feature text talks about the different vessels in a great house. There are vessels of gold and silver and when you think of the process that gold and silver has to go through to get them to a state where they can be used for God’s special purpose, you would think again. They have to be refined by fire.

Beloved, there’s always a price to pay. There are things you have to let go off. You must separate yourself from anything that’s dishonorable in the sight of God and men. You must be put through the test.

For You have put us to the test, O God; You have refined us as silver is refined. You trapped us with a snare; You have laid upon our backs a heavy burden. You allowed us to be conquered and let our enemies run over us. We journeyed through dangers, through fire and flood, BUT YOU LED US FINALLY TO A SAFE PLACE, A LAND RICH AND ABUNDANT (Psalm 66:10-12 Voice).

What kind of vessel do you want to be?

Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven… (Matthew 16:18-19 NLT)

Beloved, this is one scripture I hold close to my heart because it’s one of my personal prophecies and when the Lord says I will give you keys, while you are expecting to just open your hands to receive, His plan is to actually walk you through some things that would grant you assess to the realm of the Kingdom of Heaven.

When we read Scriptures like this we expect something major, but the more I meditate on it, I am getting the revelation that one of the keys of the kingdom is simply peace.

In 2011, at the peak of going through some major trials, the Lord asked me to be still. “Be still?” Now, these are not the words you want to hear when all hell is breaking loose. I really fought God on this one but He insisted I should be still and I remember waking up from sleep one morning to find that I was reciting these words that Jesus spoke… “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27 NIV)

Beloved, it took me a while but I finally took hold of this key and it prepared me for future storms.

In our feature text, the Lord told Peter I will give you the keys to the kingdom and like me, when Peter along with the other disciples first experienced a storm with Jesus, Jesus… was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “PEACE, BE STILL!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm (Mark 4:38-39 NKJV).

“PEACE, BE STILL!” How can PEACE calm down a storm? Peter probably couldn’t comprehend how this was possible but after walking with Jesus for a while, he mastered this key and later on, in the midst of his own personal storm, locked in prison and to be assassinated the next day, like Jesus, Peter was found fast asleep till an angel of the Lord came to His rescue… They passed the first and second guard posts and came to the iron gate leading to the city, and this opened for them all by itself. So they passed through… (Acts 12:10 NLT).

Peter received the key of peace and it opened the door to the iron gate that locked him up; gates of hell that could not prevail

Beloved, the kingdom of God is… righteousness and PEACE and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17 NKJV) so I urge you to MASTER THE ACT OF PEACE and… do all that you can to live in peace with everyone (Romans 12:18 NLT).

A leper walked right up to Jesus, dropped to his knees, and begged Him for help.  If You want to, You can make me clean. Jesus was powerfully moved. He reached out and actually touched the leper. “I DO WANT TO. Be clean” (Mark 1:40-41 Voice)

Beloved, as I read this, I felt the pain in Jesus’ heart; “why would you think I don’t want to put an end to that situation?”

Unfortunately, many have settled for the ‘If You want to’ mentality because after you’ve been treated in certain ways; pushed aside and treated like an outcast by people, it’s easy to think that their interpretations and actions ‎toward your situation reflects the heart of Jesus but that’s not true. He wants to and you don’t have to tick certain boxes to qualify you for it so you must break that mind-set.

Closely linked to this is thinking Jesus doesn’t care about your situation. We see this in the disciple’s reaction to their storm… As they sailed, a storm formed. The winds whipped up huge waves that broke over the bow, filling the boat with so much water that even the experienced sailors among them were sure they were going to sink. Jesus was back in the stern of the boat, sound asleep on a cushion, when the disciples shook Him awake (shouting over the storm), Master, don’t You care that we’re going to die? (Mark 4:37-38 VOICE)

Beloved, at times, doesn’t it feel like Jesus has gone to sleep on you? Don’t you just want to shout at Him saying… “Jesus are You sleeping again?” LOL.

Just yesterday, a friend was telling me that if only He can just speak to me and say “daughter, you’ve erred, then at least I know where to start from but He won’t say anything”. Isn’t it frustrating when we go through those moments when it seems like Jesus is nowhere to be found?

The disciples shouted at Jesus and so… He got up, shouted words into the wind, and commanded the waves. “That’s enough! Be still!” And immediately the wind died down to nothing, the waves stopped (Mark 4:39 VOICE).

Jesus must have felt, “hey, don’t shout at Me, shout at the wind and then He said… How can you be so afraid? AFTER ALL YOU’VE SEEN, WHERE IS YOUR FAITH?  (Mark 4:40 VOICE)

AFTER ALL YOU’VE SEEN… Beloved… Indeed, He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will he not also, along with Him, freely give us all things? (Romans 8:32 NET Bible) Why would you think He doesn’t care?

Jesus then asked “WHERE IS YOUR FAITH?” and I told this friend that a time is coming when the world’s systems that’s we are so dependent on will fail us and we would have no choice but to believe God for many supernatural things so He’s actually using our situations to develop our faith.

So, beloved, don’t let the enemy deceive you. You must believe that… HE WANTS TO‏ AND HE CARES.

Simon… your knowledge is a mark of blessing. For you didn’t learn this truth from your friends or from teachers or from sages you’ve met on the way. You learned it from My Father in heaven. This is why I have called you Peter (rock): for on this rock I will build My church. The church will reign triumphant even at the gates of hell. Peter, I give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven… (Matthew 16:17-19 VOICE).

Continued from yesterday… YOU ARE THE KEY THAT OPENS THE DOOR…‏

In our feature text, Jesus is talking about the power of PERSONAL revelation which grants access to the kingdom and I can just see a situation where you won’t have to stand in front of a door trying to figure out which key opens the door.

I’m sure you’ve experienced ‎going through several keys in a bunch to find which one actually opens the door. Some won’t fit in the keyhole but isn’t it annoying when a key fits but still doesn’t open the door? My mum is known to always point out the two keys that opens her front door and at times, it takes the owner alone to show you the right key that opens the door. That’s exactly what the Lord wants to give to you – the right keys to the kingdom; divine revelation that open doors to put an end to struggles in many areas of your life and this would only come by blocking out all other voices and spending time at His feet.

Beloved, I must add that discerning the right door that Jesus is opening for you is also vital because if you have the right keys but try to use it on the wrong door, no matter your effort, it won’t open for you.

A Lady once shared of when she tried to open her car using her remote keys. She kept pointing to the car but it won’t open until she came close only to realise that though it looked exactly like her car, it wasn’t her car. Her car was parked close by. Same make, same colour but it wasn’t her car, hence her keys couldn’t open it. She said immediately the Lord began to speak “daughter, the keys in your hands would only open the doors that I’ve set before you. It wouldn’t open doors set for another person”.

Hmmm… many of us are frustrated because our eyes are set on the wrong door; perhaps somebody else’s door and despite our attempts to open it, we just can’t. No, it’s not the devil. You just have right keys but wrong door – wrong job, career, business deal, ministry, partner etc.

Beloved, we are now in a state where people are confused; so much knowledge but no revelation. However, the Lord is saying, for anyone who spends time at My feet, … I will grant him the key… and no one can shut what he opens; no one can open what he shuts (Isaiah 22:22 VOICE).‏

The blessing of the Lord brings [true] riches, and He adds no sorrow to it [for it comes as a blessing from God] (Proverbs 10:22 AMP).

Happy New Year to you beloved one. This is a year that the Lord is going to pour out His blessings on you like you’ve never seen before. It’s a year where the Lord will reward those that have diligently sought after Him (Hebrews 11:6).

However, there’s a ‘God’ kind of blessing that makes one truly rich and there’s a ‘man’ kind of blessing that man comes up with to fix problems just because we are desperate. This is the Isaac versus Ismael kind of blessing – human solution rather than God solution and the Lord has been showing me that the reason why we don’t always get the fullness of what He has for us is because our flesh can’t always handle the process, which at times can be like a Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36-42) kind of process but except a seed falls down and dies, it remains a single seed (John 12:24).

The Lord’s kind of blessing is dependent on what you are willing to let go of in the flesh ‎to allow Him bring to you by His spirit (Zechariah 4:6). This year, letting go of what’s flesh will allow you to receive what’s spirit – supernatural provision.

Beloved, be wise to ensure that what you get has God’s blessing on it. Bread in hand of Jesus was blessed and that’s why He was able to supernaturally multiply it (Matthew 14:18-21).

A few days ago, we were singing this well-known song that says… “Thanks… thanks… I give You thanks for all You have done… I am so blessed… my soul has found rest…”

Immediately, the servant of God took the microphone and started confirming what the Lord had been speaking to me about. You can be blessed but your soul has not found rest because that blessing comes with so much sorrow and toiling but… all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors… (Hebrews 4:10 NLT).

The Lord’s blessing brings wealth, and no sorrow [trouble] comes with it (Proverbs 10:22 EXB)… neither does toiling increase it (Proverbs 10:22 AMPC).

Beloved, it’s a leap year – a season of great grace and supernatural favour. Doors would supernaturally be opened for you. Don’t settle for an alternative blessing. Don’t be like the lame man by the beautiful gate who was about to settle for regular alms but… then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—WALKING, LEAPING, AND PRAISING GOD (Acts 3:6-8 NKJV).

The Lord’s kind of blessing you will receive this year will have you WALKING, LEAPING, AND PRAISING GOD.

God bless you

… “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty (Zechariah 4:6 NIV).

Happy new year all. Congratulations are in order. We made it despite all the opposition. To God be the glory.

Looking back at 2014, I can say it was a year I experienced God move like never before. Naturally, I like to be in control of things so I started the year trying to do things in my own strength but somewhere along the line, the Lord started to deliberately hold me and people back until I had no choice but to allow Him take centre stage and that was when I really started to experience Him move tremendously. It taught me to let go and let God and in the last days of last year, after the first anniversary of the ‘Meeting by the well’ ministry, as I was pondering over my year ahead, the Lord put the above text in my heart. He was clearly telling me that the things He has placed in my heart to do in 2015 can only be achieved through the move of His Spirit because there’s no way I would be able to do them in my own strength.

The Message Translation says… “This is God’s Message to Zerubbabel: ‘You can’t force these things. They only come about through my Spirit,’ says God-of-the-Angel-Armies.

Rather, than going up and down being too busy trying to force things to happen, the Lord has asked me to prioritise and devote my year to just spending time at His feet and when I try to tell some people the sacrifice I’ve had to make, they think I’m crazy but the Lord confirmed it yesterday and I was like okay, that’s all I need to hear.

Dear friend, I’m fully convinced that this is a year to let go of all your struggles and let God be. It’s a year where as you spend time… building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit (Jude 1:20 NIV), you would see the Lord take… the foolish things of the world to shame the wise… chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong… chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before Him (1 Corinthians 1:27-29 NIV).

So my prayer for you is; may the Lord… grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality] (Ephesians 3:16 AMP).

God bless you

Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you THINK. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect (Romans 12:2 NLT).

What the above text highlights is that we need a paradigm shift in the way we think. We are not of this world so we shouldn’t think like the world (John 17:16). The message translation says… “Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out…

There are some laid out facts that the patterns and traditions of this world has taught us and then there’s the TRUTH. The world says you’ve got to be of a certain age to have children, then there’s the truth that Sarah was past child bearing age when she conceived. God wants us to distinguish FACTS from His TRUTH… For nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37).

Unfortunately, we are limited by how we think (Proverbs 23:7) but to receive the great things God has for us, we must know how He thinks for He says… “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” … “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT).

Please know that it is God that makes things happen so trust in the Lord and just relax (Proverbs 3:5-6). We don’t have to figure things out first. Just believe that when the time comes, Jesus will show you which fish’s mouth to get the money from (Matthew 17:27). When we define how we think God should work, we tend to focus all our effort in that direction but… He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us’. (Ephesians 3:20). WHAT POWER ARE WE TALKING ABOUT? …This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead…’ (Ephesians 1:19-20 NLT) and if you truly belong to Christ, you have the same power in you (Romans 8:11).

We must realise that the God of the Bible is the same God we’re talking of today (Malachi 3:6) but we are imprisoned by the limits we’ve set for ourselves through how the world says we should think or how our past experiences or family history has defined us. Let’s release our thinking from jail. As far as we are confined to thinking within the boundaries of how this world works, we restrict God to work within those boundaries but when we remove the boundaries, we allow God to do what only He can do.

TAKE OFF THE LIMITS of age, strength, ability, education, finance… and see what God can do.

God bless you
